Yes, this can be highly effective financially speaking. There are legal requirements if a seller opts for bulk-shipping, storage and distribution within the country/region. Most importantly, the goods should enter the country and be cleared under a registered commercial license. The IOR (Importer of Record) becomes the “named” importer and distributor on behalf of the seller and Tradeling may facilitate this transaction (importation, clearance, storage & last-mile delivery, including invoicing) by importing on behalf of the seller on a consignment basis. Please contact our logistics teams for more details.
Yes, most products are regulated. For a more detailed explanation of regulated products, check this link (Tradeling Inspection Services). Tradeling offers support with product registration and quality certifications of all types. Our logistics experts will guide you through the process. In partnership with SGS Services, we provide goods inspection and quality control. For more information, please contact our logistics team.
You should always consider insurance when transporting goods. Whether you’re using Tradeling logistics or a 3rd party provider, please make sure to ask about good insurance coverage and check all the inclusions. Nonetheless, taking precautions also greatly helps reduce the risk of damage like the following: Make sure the packages are packed in strong and durable materials and covered in shrink wrap films to help avoid moisture while in transit. Its recommended photograph the cargo before handing it over to the transporter. These images can be useful later to claim insurance in case of damage or loss. Choosing a reliable transporter helps mitigate any damage risk. If your transporter suggests proper packing, then you should consider this step.

Product registration and certification services refer to the process of registering and obtaining the necessary approvals, certifications, licenses, or permits for a product to enter and be sold in a specific country or region. Registration Services are needed because most countries demand that imported products conform to national and international standards. Products, particularly in food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics need to be tested before they can be sold. Tradeling has a partnership in place with SGS to offer customers a lean and seamless Product Registration experience. We help ensure items are appropriately registered and meet the standards set by relevant local and regional authorities. This service gives you the certainty that products are approved for distribution and use in the MENA region/other customer locations.
To import products into a country or export products out of a country, you need a licence. Importer on Record (IOR) refers to the entity or individual that is legally responsible for importing goods into a particular country. The IOR assumes the obligations and liabilities associated with the import process, including customs clearance, payment of duties and taxes, compliance with import regulations, and ensuring adherence to trade laws. The IOR is typically the party named as the importer in the import documentation and is accountable for meeting all the legal requirements related to the imported goods. Exporter on Record (EOR) is the entity or individual responsible for exporting goods from one country to another. The EOR takes on the obligations and responsibilities associated with the export process, such as preparing and filing export documentation, ensuring compliance with export regulations and licensing requirements, and managing any necessary export controls. The EOR is typically the party named as the exporter in the export documentation and is accountable for fulfilling the legal obligations related to the exported goods. In cases where you don't have an export or import licence, Tradeling can facilitate the Importer of Record, or Exporter of Record, giving you the agility and flexibility to trade internationally.
An export license is an official authorization or permit issued by the government or relevant regulatory authority of a country that grants permission to export specific goods or products from that country to another destination. It serves as a legal document that regulates and controls the export of certain goods, ensuring compliance with export regulations, national security concerns, trade agreements, and international control regimes. If the shipper/seller doesn’t have an export licence, the goods will not be cleared through the origin country customs when being exported.
Both export licenses and import licenses are crucial for maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring national security, protecting intellectual property, and managing trade flows. They help governments maintain control over the movement of goods across borders and ensure that imports and exports are conducted in a responsible and lawful manner. From Seller and Buyer perspectives, a business entity cannot export goods from a country if they do not have an Export license. Similarly, a business entity cannot import goods to a country if they do not have an Import license.
The responsibility for obtaining an export licence is on the company whose goods are being exported. E.g., if a Chinese company wants to export goods from China to overseas markets, they are responsible for obtaining the export licence, either by applying for the license themselves or by letting a trading agent handle it.
The company that wants to import goods from an overseas market into a country is responsible for obtaining the import licence from the relevant authority in that country, either by applying for the license themselves or by letting a trading agent handle it.
If you do not have an import license, Tradeling offers an IOR (Importer of Record) service through its trusted service providers. This allows you to import the goods.
Most of the exporters have export licenses. However, some companies often want to avoid the bureaucracy and the cost that comes with applying for the export licence.
If your supplier lacks an export licence, Tradeling offers an EOR (Exporter of Record) service through its trusted service providers. This allows your supplier to export the goods.
Yes, most products are regulated and require registration/certification for import into a country. Tradeling offers support with product registration and quality certifications of all types through our partnership with SGS. For more information, please contact our Logistics team.
The responsibility of obtaining insurance for your cargo is determined by the Incoterm used in the shipping contract. For instance, under the FOB Incoterm, the seller's responsibility ends when a carrier takes possession of them, or, with respect to ocean shipments, when the merchandise is placed safely aboard the vessel or when an on-board Bill of Lading has been issued. The buyer is responsible for insuring the goods from that point onwards.
Please fill in the form above with all the required details so that our logistics team will reach out to you with the required quotes/estimates Tradeling Logistics.
